How to Optimize Internet Explorer

Hi everybody, today I am going to talk about how to optimize Internet Explorer for best performance. Internet Explorer is one of the most widely used web browsers in the World. One of the reasons is simply because it is included with the Windows operating system and it is right there when you first buy and use your computer. It is not necessarily the best but millions use it. Out of the box it is not usually optimized for the fastest speed. In the following paragraphs, I will explain a little about what to do to get the most out of the browser.

The first thing we are going to do is to set the size of the cache for your temporary Internet files. This cache helps keep your browsing faster by remembering parts of a page so when you go to that page a second time it loads faster. This is great to a certain degree. If that cache gets too large, it starts to have the opposite effect.

First, go to the TOOLS tab on the top of IE. On the drop down menu click on INTERNET OPTIONS. You can also reach this through the Control Panel. First, let’s clear your temporary files by clicking on the DELETE button. Check what you want to get rid of but at least check Temporary Internet Files at a minimum. Click the DELETE button and allow the operation to complete. Now go to the SETTINGS button. Change the Disk Space tab to 100. This is the optimal setting. Click OK. Next, go to the CONNECTIONS tab. Click on LAN settings. Uncheck all boxes and click OK.

The next thing awe are going to do is to check for and disable any add-ons that are not necessary. Go to the PROGRAMS tab find and click on MANAGE ADD-ONS. Find any add-ons you do not need and highlight them. You will now see a button to disable that add-on. Remember that if you are not sure or if you have a need for a particular add-on later you can always reverse the process and re-enable it if necessary. Once you have finished the above operations, shut down Internet Explorer and start it up again. Your browser is now optimized for the best browsing experience.

For the best-continued operation of Internet Explorer, you should clean the temporary Internet cache at least once every other week.
